Trailer Music Master
Twelve trailer music courses, one price. From complete beginner to mastered track.
- All levels
If you’re serious about trailer music, you’ll eventually want to write in more than one style. Libraries ask for hybrid one week, dark thriller the next, and something with strings after that.
Trailer Music Master is all twelve of my trailer music courses in one bundle. It’s over 14 years of writing award-winning, licensable trailer music, condensed into bite-sized courses that take you from complete beginner to mastered track.
You start with the foundations: what trailer music is, the mistakes everyone makes, and the full process from template to mix. Then you branch out into the genres that actually get used. Hybrid, epic slow burn, uplifting orchestral, dark fantasy, swagger, action comedy drums, neoclassical strings, dark thriller and building drones.
It’s also about 40% cheaper than buying the courses one by one. And somewhere in there, you may well find the genre that becomes your thing.
By the end, you’ll be able to
- Learn the foundations, then the full process from sketch to mixed and mastered cue
- Write in the in-demand trailer genres, from hybrid and slow burn to dark thriller and dark fantasy
- Orchestrate uplifting orchestral cues and neoclassical string arrangements
- Build tension with drones and drive with drum-only action comedy tracks
- Find the genre that suits you best, and go deep on it
What composers say
If you are wanting to pursue Trailer Music full time I recommend the full bundle because it will save you lots of money and will introduce you to the various in-demand genres available and you may just find YOUR go-to genre. I am now writing for a successful trailer music library thanks to Richard's guidance and mentorship. Highly recommended!

Who’s teaching
I’ve written music for ads since 2007 and movie trailers since 2011, and went full time in 2014. My music has been used on over 100 campaigns, including Captain America: Civil War, Glass Onion, WandaVision and The Conjuring 2, and I’ve won eight awards along the way. Since 2017 I’ve taught thousands of composers how to do the same. More about me.

Questions
Do I need to be able to use a DAW?
Yes. You need to be able to use a DAW so you can follow along with the videos.
Do I have to use Logic?
No. Use whichever DAW you like, as long as you know how to use it.
How much music theory do I need to know?
Very little. I steer clear of deep theory in all my courses. Knowing how to harmonise the major and minor scales is plenty.
Do I have to know how to mix and master too?
No. Mastering engineer Toby Mason gives an hour-long masterclass in the Trailer Music Course on mixing and mastering trailer music to a Hollywood standard.
Can I spread the cost?
Yes. You can pay in full, or in 3 monthly payments of $179.
Can you guarantee I will get a placement?
Of course not. The composers who get work are the ones who put the hours in. They also happen to be very nice people (industry secret).
How long do I have access?
Forever. You own the courses for life, with all future updates and new lessons free. This is not a membership.
What if it's not for me?
There's a 30-day money-back guarantee.
