Good vibes, Piano improv, & newsletters

Keeping the nice things people say about you and being inspired by the world around you to write music.

I received this email a while back, but have decided to start taking screenshots of these nice things people say.

I, like everyone else, sadly remember the bad things people say much more readily, so I wanted to keep track of the nice things too.

This student went through the Protege program with me, which I replaced with my twice-yearly mentorship; both are focused on learning directly with me.

Inspired by nature

I went for a walk this morning with my Mum, and as we walked along the Thames, we walked past this beautiful meadow.

As I was driving home, I decided to create an album of improvised piano pieces inspired by this image.

I held this scene in my mind as I improvised on the piano. I wanted to create music that would fit the calm countryside scene; the type of music that would be nice to listen to as you sat with a picnic, reading underneath the shade of a tree on a sunny afternoon.

I sat down and recorded another improvised piano album this morning
