Last week in my weekly newsletter/podcast, The Diary of a Music Maker, I shared the number of streams I am getting through my record label.

The reason for this sharing is that I love to see transparency in this online world.

As I am starting to build my own record label, I want to share what is making a difference to the number of listens/listeners I get.

Hopefully so that you can learn from it or, at the very least, be inspired to take action on your own music.

This is new to me

As you can see from the chart below, I was getting next to zero streams in February of this year (2025). It was only as we entered 2025 that I decided to take more action on building my record label and making it my main focus.

If you are wondering what made the numbers jump up like that in March I share it in last week's newsletter

I just wanted to highlight this before I carry on so that you know that I am only really just starting out.

This week's numbers

This week's streams up to Thursday 8/5/2025

There has been no significant movement in the numbers this week which does not surprise me a huge amount as I have only released one album, one video, and one playlist.

That's not to say that you have to do anything to get more streams. Sometimes a track can randomly spike in views/listens because it gets added to a playlist or shared.

My plan this week

To get more streams is to create another playlist on Rich's Playlists (The official Pryn Music playlists) and create some more 'Dark Academia' music to go on my YouTube channel, 'The Academia Projects'.

💡
I have my friend Tim Gilbert, the cellist I have used for years, to come round and record some more material for my most successful artist, Eduardo Firenze, this week - piano and cello music 🤘🏼
These recordings will ultimately be turned into new playlists for the above YouTube channel
