I have a confession to make...

I have over 30 YouTube channels 😂

Some of them I post regularly, and some I don't.

There is, however, something interesting and frustrating that has happened with a lot of them. I call it "The YouTube Drop".

What is "The YouTube Drop"?

The YouTube drop can be described as this:

You post videos on a regular (weekly) basis, and they do well. Over a couple of weeks, they gain traction, and your views start to do a hockey stick curve up.

Looks at this growth in YouTube views! I was very, very excited

This is an incredible feeling; your videos are being watched and enjoyed. So you keep posting.

Then, out of the blue, all the views stop, and despite posting regularly with similar content, all your videos get barely a handful of views.

This is what happened to my views afterwards 😭

It must mean your work is rubbish, right?!

I have found no explanation for this drop other than an algorithmic change.

Yes, I hear you, the algorithm is people.

To counter that, before the drop, these videos were getting lots of engagement; views, likes, shares, comments, subs, AND the watch time was great.

To top it off, this has happened to 3 more of my channels 😭 - great build in views and subs, then, nothing.

One of the channel's videos are getting 0 views now.

Was it something I said?

What are you going to do, Rich?

Well, I am going to do what I know best, and that is to persevere.

The first time this happened, I stopped producing content for that channel...BIG MISTAKE.

I was letting this external validation be the main reason for creating. The creation should always come first; any other stuff, like views, should be secondary as long as I am truly enjoying what I am doing.
